Recycle More Program The Recycle More program offers FREE curbside pickup of e-waste, metal appliances/large metal items, bagged clothing & shoes, batteries*, fluorescent bulbs/tubes*, and cooking oil. Request a Pickup We collect many items for recycling in addition to what you can put in your recycling cart. Take a look at the items we accept, and fill out a Pickup Request Form to schedule your free pickup. Please do not put any of these items in your blue recycling cart. Recycle More curbside pickups are by appointment only. Accepted Items: CRT TVs, flat screen TVs & computer monitors Computers, computer accessories & other office equipment Consumer electronics Electronic or battery powered toys Small household appliances — anything with a cord Large appliances — doors on refrigerators, freezers, washers and dryers must be removed or have their latching/locking mechanism disabled for safety Bikes Large metal items over 36” Cooking oil — call or send a pickup request to receive your collection container in advance Household fluorescent bulbs and tubes* – must be boxed, no business-generated bulbs/tubes or any tubes over 4′ Household batteries* — only collected when combined with other items, must be bagged, no business-generated batteries Clothing — holes and stains are OK — must be dry and fill up at least one tied kitchen-size bag Textiles, including bedding, towels & other linens – must be dry and bagged Shoes (bagged and included with clothing and textiles) Accessories, including belts, purses, handbags & backpacks (bagged with clothing and shoes) CDs & DVDs Audio cassette tapes Batteries* There is no standalone pickup of batteries. A battery pickup must be combined with another Recycle More pickup. All household rechargeable and non-rechargeable batteries are accepted — no business-generated batteries allowed. Follow the steps below to properly recycle: Tape the positive (+) terminal of each battery. Place your old batteries in a sealed, clear plastic bag. Place the clear bag of batteries at the curb with your other Recycle More items. Just have batteries? See our list of single-use battery drop-off locations. Car batteries are not accepted – but you can drop them off at no charge at these car battery drop-off locations. Fluorescent bulbs and tubes* Must be placed in a box for pickup — no loose bulbs or tubes. Reuse a box that you have, or contact us below or at 707-255-5200 if you need a box for your tubes. You can reuse any box for the CFL bulbs. Residents may set out compact fluorescent bulbs and tubes of up to 4 ft. in length. Tubes over 4′ must be brought to the Hazardous Waste Facility. Businesses must call 1-800-984-9661 for an appointment to bring bulbs and tubes to the Hazardous Waste Facility. * Please note: batteries and fluorescent light pick ups are for residential customers only. The ReUse Locker is a collection of free products at the Napa-Vallejo Household Hazardous Waste Collection Facility. 889A Devlin Road, American Canyon | 1-800-984-9661 or (707) 259-8608 Friday & Saturday 9am – 4pm Landscape • Auto • Cleaning Products • Home Repair • Paint Sometimes people bring new or partially used products to the Facility. If they’re still in good condition (and not banned), the Facility stores them in the ReUse Locker so that other people can use them. These products are provided as a public service so they can be used for their original purpose, instead of being disposed of as hazardous waste at a high cost. Each year 7,000 residents drop off material at the Facility. 500,000 pounds of waste were collected last year. The cost to manage this waste was $375,000. Waste was incinerated, neutralized, recycled or sent to a hazardous waste landfill. Reusing with the ReUse Locker saves money and resources!
