canned_food_donationsOur annual curbside canned food drive has moved from March to the week of September 16th-20th.  Place your donation in a separate bag next to your recycling cart by 6am on your normal service day during the donation week – here are the detailsSee below for year-round local food donation options.

40% of food is wasted in this country.  Californians throw out over 11 billion pounds of food waste every year, and Napa ranks 45th for food insecurity out of California’s 58 counties!  Check out for great food waste reduction tips.  You can also help fight this waste and lend a helping hand by donating food.

The Napa Food Project, coordinated by Napa Valley CanDo, provides regular food donation pickups in Napa neighborhoods – check out for details.

The following local organizations accept both prepared and canned food.  Please no outdated canned goods, open containers, homemade or perishable foods for drop-off locations…food that cannot be donated should be emptied into the compost cart. You must call ahead to make arrangements for prepared and/or perishable food donations.
