The Mattress Recycling Council’s Bye Bye Mattress program began in 2015, and serves only California, Connecticut and Rhode Island. As of January 2017, they announced that the program has recycled over 1,000,000 mattresses. That means they have diverted over 25,000 tons of materials from landfills — that’s more than 11 million cubic feet of landfill space. Read more about Bye Bye Mattress.
