Sometimes people bring new or partially used products to the Facility. If they’re still in good condition (and not banned), the Facility stores them in the ReUse Locker so that other people can use them.

These products are provided as a public service so they can be used for their original purpose, instead of being disposed of as hazardous waste at a high cost.

• Each year 7,000 residents drop off material at the Facility.
• 500,000 pounds of waste were collected last year.
• The cost to manage this waste was $375,000.
• Waste was incinerated, neutralized, recycled or sent to a hazardous waste landfill.
