Summary:
Napa Recycling & Waste Services is the local recycling, compost, and garbage service provider for the City of Napa, California, and the operator of the award-winning Napa Recycling & Composting Facility.
Napa Recycling is hiring a SB 1383 Recycling Specialist to be responsible for training, auditing, supporting, and reporting the achievement of residential and commercial customers in the City of Napa. The Recycling Specialist will work closely with other Napa Recycling and City of Napa staff to contact, train, and educate customers, conduct route and facility audits, and perform other duties to reduce waste, support awareness, and maximize community participation and compliance in recycling and composting programs. The Specialist will support efforts and assist the contractor and community in meeting SB 1383 goals and other diversion mandates.

Working Conditions & Compensation:
Ability to accomplish tasks between field and office work during an 8-hour workday. Able to sit for eight (8) hours a day with breaks. Able to work at least six (6) hours at a computer. Able to attend evening and weekend meetings and events, which might require standing for over a four (4) hour period. Able to conduct sorting audits of trash, compost, and recycling containers. Position is located at a recycling and composting facility that processes recyclables and organics and generates outside noise, odor and air borne particles.
Full Time, exempt, $28.80/hr. with full benefits, including health, dental, vision and life insurance, 401(k) retirement plan with company matching, vacation and PTO, company wellness program.

Job Summary:
This position will assist the Compost Air Quality Specialist in monitoring and maintaining compliance with environmental permits and regulations for the Composting Facility at the Napa Materials Diversion Facility (MDF) and other facilities associated with Napa Recycling & Waste Services (NRWS) as needed. The primary objective of this role is to monitor and maintain Best Management Practices (BMPs) for the composting operations and assist with environmental compliance. The qualified individual will be expected to assist with onsite monitoring of parameters required by the Bay Area Air Quality Management District (BAAQMD), Yolo Solano Air Quality Management District (YSAQMD), and other agencies. This position may also assist with stormwater monitoring of the site and coordination with the Napa County Local Enforcement Agency (LEA). This position will provide support to the Resource Manager and Compost Air Quality Specialist and may be given special projects as need ed to diversify the job requirements.
