Food Scraps: Meat, bones, shellfish, dairy products, and all food scraps. Yard Trimmings: Plants, leaves, flowers, and other organic garden waste. Food-Soiled Paper: Napkins, paper towels, pizza boxes, and other paper items that have come into contact with food. Clean Wood & Sawdust: Wood free of paint or chemical treatments. Wooden Items: Chopsticks, ice cream sticks, and toothpicks. đ« Top Contaminants â Please Avoid These Plastic: Including stretchy plastics and plastic bags. Painted or Treated Wood: Wood with chemicals or paint is not compostable. Glass: All types of glass should be kept out of compost bins. Dirt & Rocks: These materials donât belong in compost.
