The Michael Leonardi Foundation and Napa County Health and Human Services Agency want everyone to know the signs of an opioid poisoning or overdose. Opioids include fentanyl, heroin, and prescription opioids like oxycodone or hydrocodone.
- Cannot be woken up or not moving
- Breathing slow or absent
- Pupils extremely small or pinpoint
- Choking, coughing, gurgling or snoring sounds
- Dizziness or disorientation
- Cold or clammy skin
- Blue lips or nails
Call 911 IMMEDIATELY. Administer Narcan (naloxone) if you have it. Stay with the person until help arrives.
